WHAT IS AN ESSENTIAL OIL?

You've probably heard your friend talking about essential oils, or maybe you've seen "celebrities" using them. These oils probably have shown up in your Facebook and Instagram. You might be thinking, what exactly are essential oils?

Essential oils are just that - oils.

They’re the aromatic, concentrated plant extracts that are carefully obtained via steam distillation, cold pressing or resin tapping. When plants are grown with the most care and best conditions, harvested at the right time and distilled with utmost skill, art and experience (you can read more about Young Living's Seed to Seal Process here), they can be used to aid in keeping our homes and bodies healthy, well and thriving!

Essential oils can pass through our tissues and go into our cells, and our bodies are smart and efficient, transporting these oil molecules all over our bodies in minutes.

Not all essential oils are created equal!

I would never recommend in store oils the same way I recommend Young Living, because I've seen Young Living's planting, cultivation and distillation methods for myself. I know that with each Young Living label, I can trust the oil within it. This is important because it is so easy for other brands to have 100% pure labels - and yet they may contain synthetic products, fillers and additives. Crazy, right? With Young Living, if it's not on the label, it's not on the bottle. That's a promise!

If you want the best for your family, you want Young Living.

What can you use oils for, and how can you use them? Check out the three methods of using our oils here.
Three ways to use essential oils.
AROMATICALLY
The quickest way to use oils is by smelling it straight from the bottle. You can also put a few drops in your diffuser. Your home will smell amazing!

TOPICALLY
You can also apply Young Living essential oils  directly to the skin, just remember to check your labels for any dilution instructions. Some oils need to be diluted with a carrier oil such as coconut oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, V6 oil, etc, especially for new users and for children. Other oils can be applied directed to the skin (referred to as "neat"). One of the easiest ways is to apply the oils to the bottom of your feet. You can also apply to wrists and wear as perfume. I love Valor especially - it helps me feel like I can do anything, and lifts my mood.
FOOD FLAVOURING

The third way to use oils is as food flavouring. Because of Young Living's extreme attention to the complete growing, harvesting and distillation processes, the quality of oils is unmatched. As a result, we are able to have an entire line of oils approved by Health Canada for food flavouring. This line is called Plus(+) and the bottles have white labels on them.
